  • Overview

    BRTRC is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician IV (SCA) to lead engineering support teams for SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic (SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic) Land Systems Integration (LSI) Division efforts to restore or otherwise integrate C4ISR systems on multiple tactical vehicle platforms. 

    Responsibilities

    The Engineering Technician IV performs non-standard or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations to integrate and test C4ISR equipment integrated on tactical platforms. Tasks include:

    • Leading new or modified technical designs for C4ISR integration; works with Engineers and SMEs to develop and document new designs.
    • Leading a team of personnel responsible for Integrating and installing a variety of C4ISR equipment into multiple tactical platforms working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications
    • Leading testing of C4ISR equipment operations and interoperability post system integration at the platform level.
    • Diagnosing failures or low power using a variety of test and measurement diagnostic equipment 
    • Gathering and maintaining specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings in SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic’s Product Data Management (PDM) system, Windchill.
    • Extracting engineering data from various prescribed but non-standardized sources, processing the data following well-defined methods, and presenting the data in prescribed form.

    Technical adequacy of work is reviewed on completion; non-routine work may be reviewed in progress. Provides guidance to lower level technicians.

    Qualifications

    • DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain (clearance preferred)
    • Education: Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or Formal electronics training from:

      Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program.

      Experience: Twelve (12) years of practical experience in relevant technical field. Six (6) years of experience, to include: installation of such equipment. Two (2) years of experience, to include: design, preparation and modification of engineering documents, and drawings. Six (6) years of experience in task specific project, of which 3 must have been performed within the last 5 years.
