  • Overview

    BRTRC is seeking a Drafter/CAD Operator III (SCA) to lead engineering CAD tasks for SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic (SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic) Land Systems Integration (LSI) Division efforts to restore or otherwise integrate C4ISR systems on multiple tactical vehicle platforms. 


    The Drafter/CAD Operator III prepares various drawings computer models of parts and assemblies, including various views, sectional profiles, irregular or reverse curves, hidden lines, and small or intricate details. Tasks include:

    • Working with Engineering and SMEs to develop accurate drawings that represent integraion of C4ISR qequipment on tactical platforms.
    • Mentoring to the Drafter/CAD Operator II and Engineering Technicians
    • Using conventional drafting and CAD techniques and a working knowledge of the terms and procedures of the occupation.

    • Making arithmetic computations using standard formulas to develop drawings for each Design Variants (DV) for a unique C4ISR configuration on a given vehicle platform variant. 

    • Using SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic’s PDM System, Windchill, as the centralized repository and configuration management tool for all phases of TDP development from preliminary inception to completion. System and kit drawings will be consolidated per vehicle platform variant and delivered as a package object within the PDM.
    • Taking every effort to eliminate duplication of any data item within the TDP. 
    • Providing final, Engineer approved, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and associated drawings to logistics for procurement 


    • DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain (clearance preferred)
    • Education: High School Diploma or GED. 

      Experience:Three (3) years of experience drafting/illustrating in the electronics field, to include: computerized drafting applications, digital imaging techniques, use of AutoCAD, planning and preparing graphic presentations of complex items. Experience with DoD processes and procedures.
