BRTRC Federal Solutions is an Acquisition Policy Analyst for a full-time opportunity at the Pentagon.
Responsibilities
Review and evaluate the impact of Statute, National, DoD, and Government policies that affect Army Acquisition capability areas; provide recommendations to address the impacts of such policies.
Prepare executive analysis of acquisition-related sections of the annual National Defense Authorization Act, from its introduction through passage into law, in order to inform senior Army leader decision making in support of acquisition reform initiatives.
Develop recommendations for senior leaders to effect change in the Army, DoD, and in future legislation to ease the impact of burdensome processes and regulations impacting Army initiatives.
Prepare and review existing and draft policy and guidance changes and implementation plans; ensure publications are consistent with guidance.
Review publications and other written communication for clarity; provide editorial inputs to improve clarity.
Ensure Army interests are fully articulated within guidance.
Review and provide recommendations on existing and proposed Army acquisition and capability area policies and implementation
Prepare correspondence and staff action summaries in support of policy review and preparation
Organize analysis and track implementation of applicable sections of the NDAA 2016 to present; provide status reports or up-to-date assessments as requested
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and twelve years of experience in Government/industry technical writing or editing, acquisition and development, or policy preparation/review; Master's degree preferred
Understanding of acquisition related DoD Directives/Instructions and acquisition-related Army Regulations and acquisition policy
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Possess excellent analytical, writing and verbal communication skills
